Keep your property safe as you head out of town!

Finals are approaching and winter break is on everyone’s minds.  It might also be creeping into the minds of burglars and troublemakers.  It’s easy to forget about the simple steps to you can take to keep your house safe over the break! Rennection stopped into the Casa Bonita leasing office to get some advice on how to keep your property safe.  Tammy, a Casa Bonita property manager gave us some simple but useful tips! 

Coordinate Schedules

First and most importantly communicate with your roommates to discuss when everyone is heading out of town.  Consider marking your calendars for when each roommate is leaving and coming back to campus.   Determine who will be the last person to leave the property and make sure they understand that they must do a final check.  It will also help prevent the last person at the property from being stuck with all the cleaning.  (taking out the trash, cleaning dishes, emptying refrigerator, etc.)

Lock up Valuables

Second, lock up your valuables!   If your bedroom door has a lock, be sure that your door is locked before you leave.  Also keep any of your valuable personal items locked within your room such as iPads, laptops, jewelry, game consoles, etc. 

Close the Blinds

Next, close your blinds so preying eyes can’t see that nice TV mounted on your wall.  If possible, get a timer for a lamp so that it will periodically turn on and off.  It’s best to keep a timed lamp near the front door or in the living room.  This can help give the appearance someone is home.

House Sitter

If any of your roommates or friends are from the area, ask them to stop by over the break and check on your place.  If you have any newspaper subscriptions, place them on hold while you're gone or have a friend or neighbor pick them up.  A pile of old newspapers is a dead give-a-way that the residents of the property are not home.  

Renters Insurance

Finally, get renters insurance! If something unfortunate does happen you will be protected!  Renters insurance covers most theft and can give you peace of mind while you’re out of town.  Most plans are very affordable and we strongly encourage all renters to have insurance.  You can get a free renters insurance quote from local Allstate agent Edmund Marquez by clicking this link!

Featured Property - Quadrangles Villages, Tempe

This Friday Rennection is Featuring Quadrangles Village, Tempe

This week’s featured property is the Quadrangles Village in Tempe.  The friendly leasing staff gave Rennection a personal tour of the property.  Needless to say, we were impressed.  

We toured a one bedroom/one bathroom unit which was remarkably spacious and a two bedroom/two bathroom unit with a great floor plan.  Both units were well kept and modern.  

The overall property was very quiet and well maintained. They have resort style pools and spas with a barbeque area. A free business center with wifi capabilities and a convenient fitness center 

are also included.  Tenants also enjoy the game room with a foosball and pool table.  The Quadrangles features a tanning salon and 24 hour laundry care center. 

The Quadrangles Village has an incredibly friendly and helpful staff who are willing to assist you with all of your leasing needs!  The Quadrangles Village leases by the apartment unit, not by the bedroom.  

With a convenient location near ASU, the Quadrangles Village provides a fantastic living experience for a great value

Show Your Place Friday - The District on 5th

 Rennection's Show Your Place Fridays! 

This week's property is home to four University of Arizona students.

The District on 5th was definitely built with college students in mind.  The District officially opened for the 2012-2013 school year and is a new favorite spot for college students to live.  The District on 5th has plenty of amenities for its tenants such as a pool with a beach entrance, free tanning, fully furnished apartments, full sized washer & dryer, and more!

Bryan, Joe, Connor, and Colson showed us their unit which is a 4 bedroom unit on the 4th floor.  They have a balcony that overlooks the pool area and it also gives them a great view of the Tucson mountains.  The pool area has a hot tub and cabanas for laying out on those sunny Tucson days! 

   

The units are built with high quality materials and also come fully furnished!  Units come in 2, 3 & 4 bedrooms models.  The 3 & 4 bedroom floor plans have two options, each bedroom gets their own bathroom or two bathrooms per unit.  The District offers leases by the resident, which is nice for roommates!

Their living room is open to the kitchen which has a large island with stools. This is perfect for eating and still being a part of the living room.  

The kitchen comes with stainless steel appliances and nice counters.  The common area also has wood flooring so its easy to clean up! 

The balcony over looking the pool is right off of the living room!  When asked, they said they haven't had any problems with noise.  

Each bedroom is a pretty good size for college living and comes with a desk, dresser, and full size bed!  The bedrooms are carpeted as well which is a nice touch. 

As for the amenities, The District on 5th boasts quite a few,  free tanning, a computer lab, study rooms, full fitness center and game room.  Did we also mention that The District has a parking garage right onsite!  

With amenities like these there's no need to leave! Well except for class. The District is located next to 4th ave. which has shopping, restaurants and bars which any resident would enjoy!

ASU Off Campus Housing Fair

Rennection Visits the ASU Off Campus Housing Fair! 

Last week, ASU's Off Campus Housing Department had their semesterly "Off Campus Housing Fair."  There were more than 10 residential communities present to share info about their properties.  Rennection stopped by and took some notes to give you a summary right here! 



University House

The University House (formally known as The Hub) offers tenants some pretty cool amenities.  University House has a 40,000 sq. ft. indoor / outdoor amenity area that boasts the largest outdoor LED TV screen around campus at 22 feet!  They also have a swimming pool, hot tub, and "layout island" for tenants looking to catch some rays!  Floor plans come in studio, 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 bedroom plans.  From the higher levels, there are amazing views of Sun Devil Stadium.  


West Sixth

West Sixth is located a block from Mill!  The towers were originally built to be condos, but were turned into luxury apartments.  Tenants here experience the true meaning of luxury high-rise living.  West Sixth offers tenants a state-of-the-art fitness center with 24/7 access, a heated infinity edge salt water pool, 2 movie theater rooms and a tanning salon with premier stand up beds.  Floor plans come in studio, 1, 2, & 3 bedroom plans and Penthouse Apartments.



Gateway at Tempe

The Gateway at Tempe apartment community is located less than a mile from ASU and offers tenants resort style living.  Gateway at Tempe gives tenants a "bang for your buck" living community.  Some amenities include tennis, volleyball & basketball courts, a resort style pool and spa, fitness center with a yoga room, business center and direct access to the Orbit Shuttle.

The Villas on Apache are located less than a mile from campus and offer tenants Villa style living.  Tenants can get both furnished and unfurnished units which have been recently renovated.  The Villas on Apache has 2 pools, a hot tub, a tanning bed, a sand volleyball court, and a business center.  They offer a variety of floor plans for their tenants.  


922 Place

922 Place is "Sophisticated & Academically Orientated Student Living".  Located across the street from ASU, 922 Place gives tenants an excellent location to live.  Aside from the location, there is also some on-site retail which is a nice amenity to have!  922 place is under new management and boasts more amenities such as a rooftop swimming pool with sun deck and hot tub, a sand volleyball court, a fitness center, game room, tanning beds and barbecue grills.  922 Place provides an urban loft style living experience! 


Quadrangles

The Quadrangles Village is less than a mile from ASU and offers tenants a great deal for the location.  Quadrangles village has 3 pools and 2 spas, a fitness center, 3 laundry care centers, and a game room.  The Orbit shuttle picks up tenants on-site, which is a big plus!  Floor plans come in a studio, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom models.  


College Town Tempe

College Town Tempe is located right next to campus and is within walking distance to the Valley Metro Light Rail.  The amenities and units have recently undergone major renovations for the tenants to enjoy.  College Town Tempe offers tenants a resort style pool with cascading waterfalls, gas grills to BBQ, a bocce ball court and Flatscreen TV's.  The units have new wood-like flooring, upgraded counter tops and a new 42" TV.

This apartment community is located on Apache right across from ASU.  The vacation style living experience can be seen throughout the property.  The District on Apache offers tenants a lazy river, oasis pool and hot tub, tanning shelve, poolside cabanas, BBQ kitchens, fire pits, an outdoor movie theater, 24 hour two-story fitness center and much more.  The District on Apache offers tenants 6 different floor plans ranging from 1 to 4 bedrooms.

The Grigio Metro apartment community is urban and hip!  Located right next to the light rail, Grigio Metro gives tenants an urban living experience.  It offers tenants open modern floor plans and gourmet kitchens.  It also has a heated pool and spa, pro-grade gym, and rooftop basketball court.  There is also light retail near by and around 20 different floor plan layouts to choose from!

The Roosevelt Point apartment community is located near the ASU Down Town Campus.  Roosevelt Point is perfect for tenants looking for the down town living experience.  The apartment offers tenants two swimming pools, two fitness centers, a study lounge, game room, outdoor grilling area, and tanning beds.  Roosevelt Point has two lease options, Urban Dwelling which has 9 different floor plans to choose from or Urban Space which has 6 different floor plan options.

The Apache Station apartment community is a resort style complex with plenty of amenities for their tenants.  Apache Station is located just east of the 101 on Apache Blvd.  Some of the amenities include two resort style pools with a spa, a clubhouse, tanning facility, fitness center, a sand volleyball court, a picnic area with grills, business center, study room and gaming center.  Apache Station offers 3 different floor plans ranging from 1 to 3 bedrooms.

The Block 1949 is "modern student living".  Block 1949 is located on University Ave. about 2 miles east of campus.  The apartment has its own shuttle to get tenants to and from campus.  They also offer a wide variety of amenities such as a large pool, volleyball court and parking garage.  The rooms are modern and come in 1, 2, 3, & 4 bedroom floor plans.

This week's property is home to six senior University of Arizona students.

Tenants:

Buddy, Brandon, Nick, Austin, Cody & Parker

The home is located north of campus on Lester street, just minutes away from the University of Arizona campus.  These seniors have a great property!   It's right down the road from the Eller College of Management.  Their location is also a straight shot to University Ave. which is home to many restaurants, shops and bars.  The students rented the house from Asset Assistance Co. which is a local Tucson company.  

Their house has six bedrooms and each has their own bathroom!  The bedrooms give each of them enough space for their furniture without making the room feel crammed.  Plus each bedroom has a pretty good size closet!  The upstairs has its own living room which the guys have set up as a second entertainment center.  They also have two balconies with great views of the Catalina mountains!

The house has an awesome kitchen and living room combined on the first floor.  This gives the guys plenty of space to hang out.  Their place also has a huge drive way which gives them enough parking for the entire house!  

We decided to ask these guys a few questions about their rental experience and how they like living off campus.

Q:  What do you like most about living off campus in your own house?

A:  The best part about having your own house is the ability to be on your own and get away from everything else that is going on on-campus.  It's great that we found a six person house so we could all live together our senior year.  

Q:  What do you like most about your place?

A:  I would have to say the large living  room and kitchen.  It's where we hang out the most and great for Sunday football.  

Q:  Do you guys know your neighbors?


A:  Yeah,  we introduced ourselves when we moved in.  It's important to get to know them so you can keep a positive relationship with those who live around you.   

Q:  Any other cool things about your place that we didn't catch?

A:  Ah, I think you guys saw it all, well we do have our own new washer and dryer which is pretty cool!

There you have it!  These guys are making the most of their senior year with a great house and location!

Show Your Place Friday - The Retreat

This week's property is home to three sophomore University of Arizona students.

The Retreat is now home to 774 college students located at 22nd and Park Ave.   This property is quite the site to see!  The Retreat is basically a college neighborhood with individual cottages lining the streets.  It also houses a huge community pool and club house for the residents to use.  It's no surprise The Retreat was completely leased prior to the fall 2013 semester.


Residents Kiarash, Stephen & Mike (sophomores) offered to show us around the complex and their unit.  There are 13 cottage styles to choose from ranging from 2 bedroom / 2.5 bath to 6 bedroom / 6.5 bath.  Many of the cottages also have their own balconies overlooking the street.  This really gives the complex more of a community feel.

The three currently live in a Lumpkin style cottage with their own balcony.  The unit is a three story unit with two bedrooms on the second floor and two more on the third floor.  Each bedroom has its own full bathroom and a generous size walk-in closet.  We were told the units come with the bedroom furnished!  That is a great deal for The Retreat tenants. 

The first floor has a large living room that is connected to the kitchen.  The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and plenty of cabinet space. Each cottage also has its own washer and dryer and an abundance of storage space.

The Retreat also offers its tenants a ton of amenities!  The pool is HUGE and has a tanning ledge, water volleyball, and cabanas.  It's actually the largest multi-tier pool in Tucson!  We were told it is definitely the place to be on weekends!  

Right next to the pool is the clubhouse, which houses a resident game lounge, 24-hr fitness center, study rooms, computer lounge, a golf simulator, and a full spa!  The building alone is really impressive! Tenants have full access to all these amenities whenever they like!  

Overall, this place is sweet!  The tenants really seem to like living here and the shuttle service gets them to and from campus without any problems!
